Mark Emirali (NZ) (Sadly Deceased January 2018)

Which model(s)/size of Greenmaster bowls do you enjoy playing with and why? Greenmaster from 2002 (I seem to recall) and Kerry Chapman was the agent for this brand in NZ

Where were you born? Auckland, New Zealand

What country/region do you play for? North Harbour

Are you a member of any bowling associations? Yes
If Yes which ones: North Harbour and Auckland

When and why did you start playing bowls:
Started in 1987 as my dad was a bowler and when he became ill, I took bowls to get him up and try to overcome his health issues. It’s a beautiful game where all ages and races can play and enjoy and Bowls does not discriminate. It’s a thinking game – know what you want to do before you stand on the mat.

Are there any particular stories/incidents you would like to tell us about that relate to your bowling?
Yes, my greatest wins was when I played in the Nationals and beating NZ players

In the bowling world who do you most admire and why?
Peter Bellis – still a tremendous bowler and has always encouraged me to do my best. Beating the Skoglunds at Nationals in Palmerston North.

Kerry Chapman – he is inspirational and I want him to get involved with Taylor at a later date when everything is settled

Do you have a favourite – film, book, song, football team, actor, etc. It can be more than one if you like.
Wilbur Smith – have all his books in hardback. Like all genres of movies, love “old music”
